Cassandra, also known as Cassandra Pinataro, is an artist bringing a new perspective to the pop music scene. As an opera singer and pop singer-songwriter, this John Lennon Award-winning songwriter has strong vocals and a range that spans over four octaves. Cassandra is currently creating a new genre she likes to call “Popera”. Blending her backgrounds of opera and pop music, she has created a new sound that even the top industry executives say they’ve never heard before. She recently released, “Queen of Every Night” which is available to stream on all platforms!
Cassandra’s pop career began in 2021 with monthly releases of singles leading up to the release of her first EP, “Made for Me,” and was followed by multiple singles such as, “Meanwhile in My Head,” “Only Christmas Wish,” (feat. Bryan Ruby), “Free Woman,” and her sad girl pop anthem, “Highlight the Real,” which encourages others to take the veil off of social media’s highlight reel and look after their mental health. Since then, she has released “Next Christmas,” “Business Casual, “Love You Back,” and “Queen of Every Night”. Most recently, Cassandra was a finalist winner in the John Lennon Songwriting Competition for her original song, “Love Country”.
Cassandra’s opera career has kicked off with scenes of Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro as Suzanna, Bernstein’s West Side Story as Maria, Lee Hoiby’s A Month in the Country as Lisavetta, and in Mozart’s Cosí Fan Tutte as Fiordiligi, and in fully staged operas of Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore as Gianetta and in Strauss’ Die Fledermaus as Adele.
Cassandra will be performing with the Nashville Opera in the Spring of 2024. In April, she will perform as a soprano ensemble member in Mozart’s The Magic Flute, and throughout the Spring 2024 season she will be a lead soprano in the company’s Opera on Wheels Program performing opera and musical theater scenes across the state of Tennessee.
Throughout her life, she has been involved in many genres of music and recently graduated with a Bachelors of Music in classical vocal performance at New England Conservatory in Boston, MA and graduated with a Masters of Arts in Music Business from Berklee College of Music Online while living and creating music in Nashville, TN.
